Korte samenvatting
For the millions of readers of the international bestseller A Brief History of Time, this accompanying book sheds more light on Stephen Hawking and his great scientific theories.

An essential companion volume to ‘A Brief History of Time’ and to the award-winning documentary film that it inspired.

Meticulously annotated with biographical notes for each participant and explanatory passages that amplify the scientific ideas they discuss. Illustrated throughout with photographs of the speakers and from Professor Hawking’s past and present and with drawings and graphics illuminating the scientific concepts at issue.

Over de auteur
Stephen William Hawking (1942-2018) was an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist and author, and is the moment of his overreader of the Center for Theoretical Cosmology at the University of Cambridge. He was the professor of mathematics at the University of Cambridge between 1979 and 2009.

Hawking was in the hospital for two weeks at the beginning of 1963. The diagnosis was amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. This is an incurable disease that is the difficult situation. The mind is approached by the disease.

Recensies
Having just seen the movie “Theory of Everything,” I had a strong interest in learning more about Hawking and in reading his book Brief History of Time. Starting with this reader’s companion was ideal as it contained a number of brief interviews with people who have been connected with Hawking throughout his life, including his mother and sister. He becomes an even more “real” person through their comments and discussions.
