Ronald Hamilton heeft diverse boeken geschreven van dezelfde aard als het bovengenoemde boek. Naast historische feiten over Schotland verschenen er ook boeken van gelijksoortige aard over andere landen.
Naast boeken over landen, schreef hij ook boeken van (historisch correcte) fictionele aard. Bij het schrijven blijft hij zo dicht bij de feiten als mogelijk, waardoor fans van het historische genre aan hun trekken komen. Echter door zijn beschrijvende stijl is het ook prettig om te lezen voor non-historici. Daarnaast schreef hij ook fictionele boeken. Een voorbeeld hiervan is “Behold the marshall”, waarin hij verslag doet over de ridder William the Marshal uit de 12e eeuw. Een ander boek van zijn hand is “Dark side of chocolate“. Hierin probeert hij licht te schijnen op de schrijnende situatie in de chocolade industrie. Daarbij schetst hij de mishandeling die West-Afrikaanse kinderen hebben te verduren in deze handel. In zijn derde boek “Forgotten Hero” doet Hamilton een poging om oorlogsheld Daniel Morgan opnieuw te introduceren aan de lezer. Hij is de meest geschikte commandant en held van twee kritieke gevechten van de revolutie. |
