Over de auteur |
Veronica Roth is geboren op 19 augustus 1988 in New York. Ze groeide echter op in de buurt van Chicago en ze studeerde creatief schrijven aan Northwestern University. In de kerstvakantie van haar laatste jaar schreef ze Divergent. Ze had de publicatierechten al verkocht voordat ze was afgestudeerd. Na het succes van The Hunger Games waren dystopische young adult boeken zeer populair en Divergent had daar profijt van. Het werd een bestseller. Tweeëneenhalve boeken van Roth’s trilogie zijn verfilmd. Helaas werd na de slechte ontvangst van het eerste deel van de verfilming van het laatste boek het tweede deel geannuleerd.
Naast de Divergent trilogie heeft Roth meer young adult boeken geschreven. Ze heeft ook haar eerste boek buiten de young adult categorie gepubliceerd: Chosen Ones. |
