Korte samenvatting

Faceless, like a lot of Cole’s books, is set against the background of London crime.

The story’s protagonist, Marie Carter, has just been released from prison. Eleven years before the start of the novel she was convicted of killing her two best friends.

She’s eager to go home after all this time but finds that there’s not much of a home to return to. Her parents have disowned her and her other friends all want nothing to do with her anymore. Even her own children don’t want to be associated with her.

But that doesn’t mean that nobody is paying attention to Marie Carter. She’s being watched, her every move followed by people unknown to her.

They are the only ones who know that Marie, finally free again, is looking for revenge.
