Korte samenvatting
Every information technology professional and manager involved with modern database applications should read Object Databases: The Essentials. Covering all aspects of object databases without requiring advanced technical knowledge, this book is an excellent introductory guide to realizing a significant competitive advantage through the availability of better information.

Object Databases The Essentials describes how object databases fit into the spectrum of today’s database technology offerings. You’ll understand the requirements that drive the development of object database products, the kinds of applications that can best benefit from object database support, the functionality that object databases offer, and the directions the industry is taking.

Written in a clear, concise style, Object Databases The Essentials guides the reader through each of the essential aspects of database management systems (ODBMSs). Early chapters provide a broad base for understanding database technology. They discuss the fundamental reasons for using ODBMSs, and give a balanced treatment of the unique perspectives that programmers and database developers bring to ODBMSs and the impact these views have had on the development of commercial ODBMS products.
