Over de auteur
Anne Frank

On June 12, 1929, at 7:30 A.M. a baby girl was born in Frankfurt, Germany. No one realized that this infant, who was Jewish, was destined to become one of the world’s most famous victims of World War II. Her name was Anne Frank, and her parents were Edith Frank Hollander and Otto Frank. She had one sister, Margot, who was three years older than she was. In July 1942, Anne’s family went into hiding in the Prinsengracht building. Anne’s family called it the “Secret Annex”. During these times people they knew like, Miep and Jan Gies and many others, brought the family’s food. You would have to be very brave to take on a job like that because if you got caught you could be killed.

Recensies
The Guardian: “Anne Franks diary is one of the greatest books of the century… As she brings herself and her circumstances into such buzzing, engaged life on the page, she triumphs over her history. We return to her again and again, unable to believe that this hymn to life was written on the way to Belsen… If you have never read Anne Franks diary, or haven’t read it for years, this is the edition to buy.”

Daily Telegraph: “It traces her thoughts, her hopes to become a writer and her shrewd and not always kind remarks about those in hiding with her, and the quarrels that broke out between them… Whatever version you read, Anne’s diary remains as fresh and heartbreaking.”

The Times: “A modern classic… Anne’s diary tells a story that is true, memorable, important and strongly personalized … compelling reading.”
